At 36, I’d already been in chronic pain for 10 years! One badly executed sit up at the gym had left me with back pain that spread to my hips, my knees, my whole body.
I tried “everything” to fix it…. ironic given I was a physio!
8 different doctors in 3 different countries, multiple MRI scans & X-rays.
And a bunch of labels and diagnoses... Degenerative disc disease, early onset arthritis, fibromyalgia, weakness and muscle imbalance, plantar fasciitis, perimenopause (I was 31!)
Rather than a route to relief, the labels felt like the end of the line.
After a decade of pain, I was supposed to accept that I had a life of symptom management ahead of me.
